The Beaches Energy Tidings Newsletter is a monthly publication distributed to more than 35,000 of the energy company's customers across Northeast Florida’s Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach communities.
Tasked with re-imagining their Tidings Newsletter to make it more engaging and more valued by Beaches Energy customers, we set out to transform the monthly publication’s standard energy company fare – think energy tips, usage reports, news updates – into a more definitive Beaches experience. That meant creating an annual series of upbeat, bright designs, a more deliberate use of infographics and local photography that would help put a more personal face on the energy company.

The Results
By highlighting content relevant to customers – like the active steps and infrastructure projects that Beaches Energy was working on to prepare for hurricane season – we helped increase direct engagement and drive overall business metrics and KPIs.
Compared to data from the previous year, the 2018 email newsletter average open rate increased by 4.6%, while the bounce rate decreased by half – generating an increase in the delivery rate to 99.5%.
The new format also drove more traffic to the website by about 72%. Additionally, website goal completions dramatically increased from 594 in the latter part of 2017 to more than 2,000 in early 2018.
And while the new series was a hit with customers, it also received praise from the American Public Power Association. Beaches Energy received an Excellence in Public Power Communication Award for the entire 2018 Tidings Newsletter.
In addition to utility newsletters, we also help support the energy company's marketing and social media through campaigns aimed at generating e-billing enrollment and energy conservation programs.
